Martin Haukland was a Graduate Research Fellow in the period from December 2020 to June 2021. At NUPI he was part of the Research group on Russia, Asia and international trade and wrote his master thesis for the project "COINS - Consequences of Investments for National Security". The thesis was a quantitative study of potential geoeconomic determinants for the location choice of inward foreign investments – focusing mainly on investments from China.
Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from The Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and a bachelor’s degree in Political Economy from the University of Bergen. He has been a visiting student at Columbia University, London School of Economics, and Fudan University. After his engagement at NUPI, Martin continued pursuing a double master’s degree at NHH and HEC Paris.
