Claudia Emilie AanonsenJunior Research Fellow
Claudia Emilie Aanonsen is a Junior Research Fellow at NUPI and part of NUPI's Centre for Digitalization and Cyber Security Studies.
Claudia holds a MSc in International Politics from SOAS, University of London. During her studies, she explored the way technology infiltrates our social realities from an international political perspective. She specialized in how digitalization and 'big tech' surveillance mechanisms affect governance and distribution of power, particularly in terms of sovereignty. She has previously studied religion and international politics of the Middle East.
Her research interests include democracy and digital governance, surveillance capitalism, and artificial intelligence in the field of Foreign Policy Analysis.
Claudia is involved in several projects within NUPI's Centre for Digitalization and Cyber Security Studies: GAIA, Cybersecurity and Developing Countries and Cybersecurity Capacity Centre for South Africa (C3SA).

NUPI in collaboration with Simula Research Lab will map global data flows and their impact on national autonomy and sovereignty.
